Walter grew up in NYC. He got a BFA from Pratt, and went on to illustrate and paint living in the city and upstate NY. For twelve years he did the illustration on the back on the Village Voice in the classified ad section.

Walter has been living in Asheville for only about two years, and has just built a large studio, and continues to make relevant and thought provoking work.
