Fox Smith: Dry Pass

Fox Smith’s eye for abstraction is founded in mathematical systems and the artist’s observations in nature. Fox paints with a sureness and clarity that harkens back to his days as a college athlete playing water polo.

“Dry pass” is the term used in the game for a ball that is thrown and caught in one hand between players; the ball does not touch the water. This pass allows for optimal speed due to fluid motion between catching and throwing.
